Prepare for fun-filled days out and action-packed adventures at Fantasy island! If you love your rollercoasters and white-knuckle rides then you will love spending the day at Fantasy Island. Away from the rides, and on the opposite side of the road is Glen Park Market. Here you can buy everything from gifts to toys. There’s also plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can grab a drink or a bite to eat.
Get up close and personal to some amazing animals including seals, penguins, butterflies, reptiles and fish. Natureland is well known for rescuing and rehabilitating orphaned and injured seals that become stranded on Lincolnshire beaches. Visitors can see the various stages of their rehabilitation and hear about the rescue work at feeding times. All in all it’s a great family day out.
Take a journey to an underwater world of marine life, pirates and lost treasure! Explore the tanks and spot an incredible variety of fish, from venomous predators to colourful shoals of tropical fish! Every area of the aquarium has its own distinctive character. Wander through the Wreck of Hispaniola, snoop in Long John Silver’s Store, stray into the sunken hold, pretend to swim through the sea cave and touch the sand of Treasure Island.
A great day out in over 7 acres of Lincolnshire countryside yet just 10 minutes’ walk from the beach. This real life working farm allows you to get close to the animals and see how they are reared on a modern farm. There is lots to do whatever the weather, with many of the livestock areas under cover, a large outdoor Adventure Play Fort and the huge Haystacks Indoor Playbarn & tea rooms.
Head over to Huttoft near Alford and visit The Radcliffe Donkey Sanctuary. This non-profit making organisation, exists purely on donations by members of the public and fund-raising efforts by the helpers. Many of the donkeys at the sanctuary have been rescued from cruelty. The sanctuary enables them to enjoy their remaining years comfortably
Lincolnshire’s only open-air museum, Church Farm is home to a collection of buildings including a Grade II listed Georgian farmhouse, which is decorated and furnished to a Victorian era. The museum holds exhibitions of 19th- and 20th-century farm implements and machinery, and is a family friendly site with interactive activities including feeding the chickens, story telling, skittles, bug hunts, dressing up.
Gibraltar Point is a dynamic stretch of wild coastline covering 1,000 acres, running southwards from the edge of Skegness to the mouth of The Wash. Designed to make the most of the reserve’s stunning views with expansive windows and a rooftop viewing deck, the new visitor centre will be the perfect place to start and finish a visit to Lincolnshire’s wild coastline. The cafe also serves tasty, homemade, locally sourced food.
One of the largest amusement centres in Europe, Skegness Pier is the place for for traditional family fun! No visit to Skegness is complete without a walk through the Pier and out onto it’s decking. There is something for all members of the family including children’s play areas, which has ball pools and big slides and shooting cannons.
Step back in time to a bygone age at Dobson’s Mill. Here you can tour this working mill and learn more about the history and heritage of the area. Dating back to 1810, the mill was worked as a commercial concern by the last owners, the Dobsons, until the 1960s. It was then purchased for preservation by the County Council and has been run since by groups of volunteers. In the Granary Tearooms you can enjoy delicious home made cakes!
This attraction boasts a fascinating collection of model vehicles and motor racing memorabilia covering the many aspects of motoring history from the world of Formula 1, GT Racing, Rallying, Indycar and Supercars! The collection is housed in a barn that was converted for the sole purpose of displaying it to the public. Around 4,500 models are presented each season with some new displays and guest collections arranged over the winter!
